March 31

Today for class we were in Mrs. Smith's room.  I watched the video because my group is finished our 1000 word paper.  I did my English homework too.  We were in the room that Chesca ran into a desk in when she was getting the tape for Ireton.  That was funny.  Tomorrow we have a test.

We will hopefully get it done soon so we can watch the video that Mr. Schick is going to be teaching us from.

March 24

Today we presented our power point on Socrates, Aristotle, and Plato.  I read the slides about Socrates so I had to read first.  Jess sat in the back of the room and clicked the button on the computer so she wouldn't have to stand in front of the class.  After she read her part, she said she kinda freaked out which was pretty funny.

March 12

Mr. Schick's daughter turned 20 today.  We facetimed her in class for the whole first mod.  Then Chesca, Jessica, and I started working on our powerpoint.  We got about 3 or 4 slides done.  We talked about what we are going to do when Mr. Schick leaves.  We will either watch a video or work on our paper. It is recommended that we watch the video because Mr. Schick will be teaching from it.

Cyber Day 3/6/15

Socrates
Socrates was a classical Greek philosopher who was credited as one of the founders of Western philosophy.  He was born in 470 BC and died in 399 BC at the age of 71.  Socrates's approach to philosophy is known as the Socratic Method.  He would ask people a series of questions that would force them to question their own beliefs and the validity of those beliefs.  The Socratic Method is still strongly felt today and is called the Scientific Method.  The first step is forming your hypothesis which is very similar to Socrates's method.  The development of the Socratic Method is one of Socrates's most enduring contributions to the development of Western philosophy.  It is not known if he had any other jobs other than philosophy and he is not known for any writings.  We know about the existence of Socrates through the writings of his students Plato and Xenophon.  Socrates is still important today because of his many contributions in the field of epistemology and because of the many influences he made to western philosophy.
